discoguy SPOTTED in Vdeviento Magazine - 2001 Board/Sail Review
Mag Editor appears to have 'cropped' the board out of the photo once realised 'the old warhorse' was potentially 20+ years old! Not cool enough for this mag, eh!

Maketu cross off wind and large swell I ended up getting worked came in and went surfing instead, while I was out surfing we later found out their were 3 large earthquakes centered at Lake Rotoiti any closer to the coast and we might have had some really really really large waves.

Mr B captures some after work, Speed Creek action.
Nice vid Brent.
Good to see dnick getting his 'sailing hours' up, after an earlier sail the same day,(with discoguy and Chantelle). Is it just me, or whenever a camera comes out, Darren 'maneuvers' himself in front of it?

Demo Day - Version 2.0
Many thanks to the A'ND team for bringing the latest Gaastra/Vandal and Tabou gear down, for the Tauranga/Rotorua crew to 'paw over'. Awesome looking boards and sails kindly rigged and ready to go, however the forecast 20knots failed to come to the party.
Despite the crap conditions there was a good turnout, with most participants getting wet,(in the pursuit of a good planing run or 2). Mark looked to have made the most of the session on a Stitch/Manta combo, with consistent flying runs across the harbour.
A team trip up to Aucks may well be in order, to chase up another A'ND demo session............... in some heavier northern weather!

UPDATE. I suspect fanging around the harbour on some new Gaastra/Tabou kit is going to generate a mean thirst. A separate bar @ The Trust, Bureta Park is available for all Demo Day participants looking to engage in some; intelligent, post sailing product analysis,......and beer.

From the discoguy archive - 1989 NZ Windsurf Slalom Nationals - Eastbourne, Wellington.
Mark, Neville and I rolled down to Wellington from Warkworth,(in my 'fully laden' HQ Belmont+camp-o-matic) to see if we could "race".
I had only been windsurfing for a year, so naturally I targeted the Social Division. Mark and Neville were contesting in the Production Class on Windtoys Predators.
The young fella did well, featuring in a heat win on the video,( the best I got was a 2 second cameo, rolling around 'solo' in the camp-o-matic).

The sailing?.........I dropped my rig tacking around the buoy in the first fleet race, and subsequently watched everyone else go around me,(managed to pull a few places back after I got going). Finished about 60th of 120 in the second course race, didn't drop a gybe,........was stoked! As the racing went on my confidence built to a point where I had a clear lead the final heat, lost sight of the last buoy in the swells, and blasted right past it,......Arse!........"Pour me another warm Kuhtze, mate!"
The 'Fully Committed' award went to some tall dude called Stephan. Competed with one sail, one board and wandered around, sailed, (and partied) over the 3 days - in the same set of clothes,...Legend!
